When our bodies are injured they have an innate response to heal and defend. Regenerative medicine harnesses the power of the body to heal and accelerates regeneration in damaged tissue and injuries.
Regenerative medicine includes platelet rich plasma therapy, stem cell therapy, and amniotic tissue therapy. The goal of regenerative medicine is to find a way to cure previously untreatable injuries, pain conditions, and skin abnormalities.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentration of platelets and growth factors that promote healing and regeneration in damaged tissues. PRP is derived from your own body’s blood and is 100% natural. PRP treatments can be an alternative to surgery and other invasive treatments.
Harvesting PRP is a simple procedure which includes drawing a small sample of your blood and spinning it at high speeds to isolate the growth factors and platelets. Because your own blood is used, PRP is 100% natural and has no risk of a transmissible infection and a minimal risk of allergic reaction.
Using a small gauge needle, Dr. Dante Oriente will introduce the PRP into the affected area under guided ultrasound or fluoroscopy. PRP’s natural healing process intensifies the body’s efforts by delivering a higher concentration of platelets and regenerative growth factors directly into the area in need.
Stem cells are the body’s master cells. They are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to transform into a variety of different cells, replace dying cells, and regenerate damaged tissue.
A high concentration of these cells is obtained from the patient’s own bone marrow or fat tissue (adipose). Our practice uses a sterile, closed surgical process to obtain the stem cells. Once obtained, the cells are isolated with a specialized centrifuge and then accurately injected into the injured tissue using ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance.
We also provide injections of a purified amniotic source that contain a healing matrix of cytokines, growth factors, and proteins that help to rejuvenate and heal damaged tissue. Amniotic tissue contains a high concentration of healing properties that have proven to regenerate damaged tissue and promote healing.
The amniotic tissue is donated and obtained from a purified amniotic source. This procedure involves a simple injection usually guided by ultrasound or fluoroscopy.
Minimally Invasive Pain Treatments
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can also be applied to the skin to help reduce the appearance of scars, heal skin abnormalities, and restore hair growth. These aesthetic treatments involve a micro-needling procedure which causes tiny punctures into the skin where the PRP is applied topically at the same time. These regenerative therapies generate healing and can help restore damaged or aged skin as well revitalize hair growth.
